We took the opportunity of a trip in Croatia to visit our friend Romeo, a motorcycle passionate and fast Laverda rider. After a good lunch and a visit of the nice city of Zadar, we took some pictures of his awesome full carbon 1981 Laverda Jota triple as well as his beautiful 1984 Nico Bakker Kawasaki.
Some specifications of the 2 bikes :
1981 Laverda 1000 Jota :
180° 1130 cc tuned engine with, among others, special ported heads, big valves (41,5 intake – 35,5 exhaust), C4 camshafts, Moto Witt DMC2 ignition, custom oil cooler. This very powerfull 3 cylinder is still fitted with the Jota stainless steal exhaust and the original Dellorto PHF32 carbs... but certainly not but not for much longer ;-)
Front and rear suspensions are from Wilbers suspension front and rear including stearing damper. The swing arm is from Krueger & Junginger and the fearing and tank are Boba's full carbon.
1984 Nico Bakker Kawasaki Z1000 :
Nico Bakker CrMo nickel plated frame and Nico Bakker aluminium fuel tank , PVM wheels , Brembo /AP loched brakes, Marchochi 38mm fork and WP rear suspension.
Engine is a tuned Kawasaki Z1000J with 1200 cc displacement, lightened and balanced crankshaft with original conrods , REC Hamburg foged pistons with titan nitrid coating, GPZ 1100 Unitrack head, twin sparks, racing cams, big valves, Zephir 1100 ignition, custom big oil cooler, Keihin CR 33 carbs, about 135hp on rear wheel.
This bike weight with full tank 20l petrol have 200kg , all electrical parts are still on bike like starter or dynamo it is very light for bike of this size. To drive it i would comer this as nearest to drive 250GP two stroke bike with big 4 stroke engine with lots of stroke and hp.
Advice from Romeo who is also a damn fast pilot : "on classic bikes, my preferred tires are Bridgestone BT012SS" ;-)
