John Wittner, aka “Dr. John”

Few of us know John Wittner, aka “Dr. John”. This US dentist was also an ingenious motorcycle enthusiast. In the mid-80s, his Moto Guzzi racing twins were very successful in the US races. The most famous victory had been in Daytona in 1988 with a Moto Guzzi equipped with a brand new 4-valve twin designed around a special frame. This bike was not only a racing prototype but its unique framework laid the groundwork for the future development of the Moto Guzzi  future models like the 1992 Daytona 1000 developed  by the Moto Guzzi factory with the support of John Wittner.
