Fabio Taglioni

The famous engineer Fabio Taglioni (1920 – 2001) started his career in the motorcycle industry in 1943 in the racing department of the Italian manufacturer Mondial before joining Ducati in 1954 where he became one of the main actors of the extraordinary success of the Italian brand. Among other milestones, he applied the “desmodromic” valve actuation in 1957 and he was also at the origin of the Ducati typical 90° V twin engine concept in the late 60’ which are both still strongly associated to the current Ducati production. He officially retired in 1986 although he continued working as a consultant until his death in 2001.
